Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with topics like racial or sexual identity with a comedic twist. Before expanding into Hollywood her career, she could perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical experience. She played the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was just a teenager. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention to music. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also included other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC BitcheUSD. This song is directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Following a career that was successful as a performer and songwriter, she decided to take on the role of an actor. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
