Salma Hayek's biggest Hollywood breakthrough came from Robert Rodriguez's Desperado. Hayek rose to fame with Frida which was that was nominated for an Academy Award. Hayek was also involved in television as director of Ugly Betty and other hit series. Salma Hayek Jimenez, daughter of Spanish and Lebanese parents was born in Mexico on September 2, 1996, at Coatzacoalcos. Hayek was raised in a Catholic wealthy, well-off family. When she was 12, Hayek went to a convent-like school located in Louisiana. Then she moved with an aunt to Houston, Texas.
